The Kerns family hooked my Dad and I up with some BYU vs USU tickets. This was going to be interesting to say the least. I proudly supported the Aggies with my dad's old Utah State coat that he had when he lived in Logan millions of years ago ;) haha (I wear that thing everywhere, much to the dismay of my mother) and my game day t-shirt.
When we got to the stadium I was so pumped that every time I saw another Aggie fan I would yell "Go Aggies!" We made our way up to our seats and my dad and I found ourselves right in the middle of the season ticket holders.
We figured there would be two possible ways to watch this game:
Option 1: We could sit down and shut up and blend right in with the BYU blue and white.
Option 2: We could jump around and bring attention to ourselves.
Needless to say, we chose option number 2. I was planning on making a huge fool out of myself. What I WASN'T planning on was my dad cheering for the Aggies louder than I was. When the Aggies got the first touchdown of the game we went crazy! Someone behind me yelled "Sit down!" Hilarious.
Slowly other Aggie fans around us started to join in. I figure that they came to the game planning on Option 1, but we changed their mind. By the end of the game we had about six other USU fans cheering along with us. I LOVE MY DAD!
End of the story, we lost. But who really didn't see that coming? Still the best football game I've ever been to!
P.S. Thanks to the Kerns for letting a couple of Aggies come along to their sacred tradition. It was lots of fun! Hopefully we didn't embarrass you too much!
